Under Nullborn rule, Isri and Tariq have spent their lives learning how to stay small: hide what they are, obey the Melanin Suppression Act, and survive a world designed to keep Veilborn disconnected from their history, culture, and power.
Then a signal from the Inheritance pulls them from Solenzara, the Caleno capital, to Solença, the Zinara capital.
There they meet Zula, a young Veilborn still searching for the sister who vanished ten years earlier.
To find the missing, Isri, Tariq, and Zula will have to decide whether survival is enough — or whether it is time to become the beginning of something larger.
THE MYSTERY

As disappearances across Veilborn begin to form a larger pattern, Isri, Tariq, and Zula are pulled toward answers that the people in power would rather keep buried.
Their search brings them closer to Sunshift, the youth movement calling a generation to reclaim Veilborn culture, sovereignty, and a future of its own. But every answer puts them closer to the Sundown: the Nullborn police force built to suppress Sunphasing before it can become dangerous.
